DUMBO, BROOKLYN

Harriet's Rooftop (1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge)

The tenth-floor terrace above Brooklyn Bridge Park — the skyline at cocktail height.

Harriet's sits on the tenth floor of 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, directly above Brooklyn Bridge Park, which puts its terrace at what may be the single best cocktail-height angle on lower Manhattan: the bridge to your right, the harbor and Statue of Liberty to your left, the skyline straight ahead with nothing in between but river.

The interior follows the hotel's reclaimed-timber, greenery-heavy design, but the terrace is the point. It is a scene on summer weekend nights — expect a line and a door policy — while weekday golden hour is civilized and almost unfairly photogenic. Treat the drinks as the admission price for the view and you will leave happy.

Editor’s tip

Go on a weekday at golden hour, straight to the west rail of the terrace — sunset lands directly behind the skyline.
